Raised by her grandparents, Latora Norfleet-Adanu learned early the importance of family, advocacy, service, and looking out for others. A natural protector with a heart for people, she has built her life and career around one central belief: when people have the right information, they are better equipped and empowered to make decisions for themselves and their families.
Latora's professional journey began in college as a peer tutor and mentor, where she discovered her passion for helping others learn, grow, and navigate important decisions. Her love of communication and storytelling eventually led her into journalism, where she worked across television, print, and radio as a reporter.
Her years in journalism shaped an approach she still uses today: listen carefully, ask the right questions, dig deeper to understand the full story, and never assume that one answer is right for everyone.
Latora later transitioned into higher education, serving as an Academic Advisor, Adjunct Professor, Assistant Director of the Gateway to College program, and Coordinator for Online Learning during the early development of online education initiatives nearly two decades ago. Throughout her career, she has also served her community in numerous leadership and service capacities.
Today, Latora brings her background in journalism, education, advising, and community service into her work as an independent health insurance advisor and founder of Trusted Health Insurance Advisors. She specializes in helping individuals and families understand Medicare, Affordable Care Act health coverage, and other health insurance options.
For Latora, health insurance is not simply about selling a policy.
It is about education, advocacy, and people. She believes individuals deserve someone who will listen to their concerns, research their options, explain complicated information in language they can understand, and equip them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions for themselves and their families.
Her unique combination of journalism and education allows her to do exactly that. The journalist in her listens, investigates, and asks questions. The educator in her takes complicated information and makes it understandable. The advisor in her helps people apply that information to their individual circumstances. And the advocate in her makes sure people know their voices and choices matter.
That passion for advocacy extends beyond her professional life.
Latora is a wife and the proud mother of two beautiful children who are already developing a passion for helping others and advocating for what is right. For Latora, teaching the next generation to care about people, speak up for others, ask questions, and serve their communities is just as important as the work she does professionally.

Latora holds a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Montclair State University, an Associate degree in Liberal Arts, and a Master's degree in Higher Education Leadership.
